Brad Silby is a picture book maker and animator. 

 

He loves telling stories through the emotions of his characters, a skill honed via the numerous animated performances he has crafted for movies and TV shows such as Paddington, Harry Potter, Guardians of the Galaxy and Avatar: The Last Airbender. He is a VES (Visual Effects Society) Award winner and Annie Award nominee, and has worked on Oscar and BAFTA award winning projects.

 

In his books he wants to show children that the wonders of the world are all around us, that challenges are there to be overcome, and that magic does exist. 

 

The Paper Friend is his first picture book. Originally from Yorkshire, he now lives in West Sussex with his wife and daughter.
